america's automotive culture has ironically destroyed most of what makes metropolitan areas work well. 

from the decimation of exurban areas to the near impossibility of driving anything but a four-wheeled vehicle to the lacking interstate railway infrastructure; the list goes on.

and lemme tell ya, bureaucracy and more taxes ain't gonna fix it.

We could build better public transit with better capital allocation instead of penalizing people who decide not to use our failing subways and dangerous bikes

Agreed that the left is ineffective and congestion pricing shouldn’t be a big celebration (took 17 years since Bloomberg proposed it!)

But even if the money didn’t go to the MTA I think it’s a necessary disincentive for congestion in a crazy dense area

Uber and Lyft co-sponsored this legislation because it benefits them to have car owners pay $9 a day and uber riders pay $1.50 a ride.

If it really helps traffic it’ll maybe be worth it but I doubt it will long term.

I hear this. I’m happy for congestion pricing because it’s literally impossible to drive across town in manhattan. There are quite simply too many cars. Too many Ubers.
