I think price is also so high now that even consumers won’t take risks.

Sadly the masses like known properties so that's what we get.

Even known properties don't do well these days though.

I don’t have an interest in watching it, but if animation friends say it’s good I’ll reconsider.

(and based on the reaction of my partner telling her friend: “look! inside out 2 is coming!” i can acknowledge where this revealed preference comes from. there is something about part 2 of a film you liked that is pretty unique)

Yeah. I want to see more original films too but when movies like IF flops and then IO2 beats expectations it makes it less and less likely to justify backing original stories 🙄
