maybe! haha hey @john I’m actually at the airport on my back home from my 3rd visit to Japan, and this was my gf’s 1st. Solid recommendations on the thread. For a 2-week trip around that time, I’d recommend the basic and beautiful ‘golden route’ Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka. Tokyo can easily take 50% of the trip imo. Loads to explore, and it takes time! Also a good place to set base and go for a day trip to see Mt. Fuji — Fujiyoshida is a popular/common destination for that, but many others available with different atmospheres. Kyoto for its incredible history and shrines. Unfortunately, it will probably be crowded (also cherry blossom season). We got ‘lucky’ as we bet on arriving on a Sunday night. Hotels were 30% cheaper and the start of the week seemed to have an impact (less people than what I’ve experienced before). Kyoto is close to Osaka, which would be a nice hub as well to cities like Kobe and Nara. Osaka is super vibrant, has a ton of good food and feels way more ‘raw’ than Tokyo.
