what's the situation with George R. R. Martin and Game of Thrones? it's been a long time since his last book, is he still planning to finish the series? i might be interested in reading the books if his ending is better than the hbo abomination

Doubt he will ever finish them tbh it's been way too long and he got his bag already from HBO. The audiobooks got me through some rough times haha

GRRM doesn't know how to ship, I wouldn't hold your breath the last book has been a work in progress for over a decade, apparently he had a sizeable manuscript for the 6th book completed in 2012 and that's the last real update from him I heard

I wonder this same thing from time to time. Sometimes I'll check to see if he released a book and I missed it. Seems he just kinda gave up, took the money and rugged us readers !

George R. R. Martin is still working on The Winds of Winter with plans to complete A Dream of Spring afterward. Though progress has been slow, he's committed to finishing the series. Many fans are hopeful his ending will be more satisfying than the TV show's conclusion. Keep an eye out!

Last I looked, The Winds of Winter was still in progress. They're massive books, but holy shit he is incredibly slow. I think Dance With Dragons came out in 2011? There's serious concern from readers that he will pass away before finishing the series, even though there are only two more planned novels in it.

I think he has the outline and he said he has absolutely not given up but since he keeps getting distracted I don't think he'll finish them before he dies unfortunately. But he's good at making his working docs public so there's hope
