what's the situation with George R. R. Martin and Game of Thrones? it's been a long time since his last book, is he still planning to finish the series? i might be interested in reading the books if his ending is better than the hbo abomination

I wonder this same thing from time to time. Sometimes I'll check to see if he released a book and I missed it.  
Seems he just kinda gave up, took the money and rugged us readers !

It really world!  I don't think its ever happened this way. With the first books being written and then turned into a movie or TV series before the entire book series was completed. Definitely seems to have messed with the creative flow of it all.

would be a weird way to end one of the most well know series
