This dog was black as a puppy. We named her Pepper. She turns whiter everyday. Now every time someone remarks on her color change, I fire off a song from the Salt-N-Pepa playlist. Tonight’s was It’s A She Thing.

This indoor flower garden from Trader Joe’s was absolutely my best impulse purchase this holiday season. I have gotten such delight from watching the bulbs sprout and grow and now bloom.

I want to get a new family board game. We like strategy games like Catan. Throw me some suggestions and tell me why you like it.

A friend tried to set me up with my now husband for a year. I refused. Eventually, we all end up at the same place, post-Jazz Fest crawfish boil. She introduced us, we talked for 1hr+. He & his friends missed their concert. His brother finally forgave that missed concert in his speech at our wedding.

I was just discussing this book with a friend last month. She had read it, but had not heard of the concept of someone being T-shaped. She is the head of a new non-profit and I sketched out for her how she can use the concept to build out the organization.

Non-daily now. Mostly because when I stepped away for a couple weeks, I came back to confusion because a lot happened during that window. Made the effort feel higher friction. Trying to remember to come back more regularly in some cozy less FC based and evergreen channels. But once out of habit it’s a thing.

🙋🏻‍♀️ I am working on my personal writing vs work for clients. It’s so much easier to write effectively for someone else. My favorite takeaway - everything you write is an ask for the reader. Time, cognitive load etc. Make fewer asks.

Bought this book based off Adam Grant’s recommended new books. It is now a favorite. What set this book apart for me was how it starts by asking you to think like the reader, not the writer. There is a lot of crossover application with UX/UI, brand experience and other disciplines.

C - love walk and talks. I often pace in my backyard while on calls even when they are unofficial walk and talks. Ps I use Ai transcription to summarize which takes note taking out of the limitation too. When I need an important note that is “unsaid” I jot it in notes.

The end of this chart shows the effects of the Great Recession. Two of the dramatic dips were due to that. Teen work for pay & driver’s license. Many traditional teen jobs were not available or taken by underemployed adults. Teen insurance was more than many families could afford. Even now, ride share is often less.

In app updates or links to notes on what has changed. Unless you are keeping up daily, it’s disorienting to come back and figure out what’s what. Good news, you are shipping a lot. Bad news I am a little lost each time I log in.

Full disclosure I eat it about 3-4x a year. It is good, I just don't eat a ton of fried food. Pro tip: it's easy party food to bring to a potluck or tailgate kind of thing.

This is what I get for our household to substitute. Sugar content the same. Couple more ingredients though.
