Founders, just to help each other from a motivation standpoint, how many VC rejections did you receive before closing your first check/round?

got first check relatively fast (after ~4 months of ideating & prototyping). took nearly a year to get a second check. then, only after a big pivot, did we build up enough traction (over the course of another year) to raise a more substantial "round"

maybe too stupid to give up? 😂

I stopped counting but maybe somewhere around 30. Other founders told me that’s not a lot, but I got disillusioned with the process. Turns out hearing no all the time is not fun. We got our first check through an angel investor who believed in our mission.

i don’t remember how many, but our mentality going in was that it would take at least 100 no’s to close our round. 

it never bothered us to get a no bc we only need a few yes’s.
