Reminder: there's also plenty of people who have lost huge amounts of crypto to *loss* rather than theft. Software bug, forgotten password, lost device, paper wallet burned down in LA fire, upgraded device without backing up data .... lots of ways for that to happen. Because there's no attacker to go after, victims don't have a strong need to talk about it. And often because they see no one to blame but themselves, victims will be too ashamed to talk about it. But it happens. Often. And the truly robust wallet security solutions that our ecosystem needs to build should take loss into account too. (This is a big part of why I talk about social recovery so much!)

The Airdrop 2 Season 13 might be delayed to next week. But don’t worry—I'm using ChatGPT and the latest computer technology to build the ultimate super app on Warpcast. It’s got flashing lights that will blind you, a claim button, and high-velocity confetti spurts, so you nerds never have to visit a Web2 boomer webpage again. Welcome to the future.

Aya first shared the idea of transitioning from ED of @ethereumfndn to President a year ago. She has accomplished much in her seven years as executive director of the EF. As I see it, the role of an ED is to create an environment where others can shine and do their best work, and so every success of the EF - the steady execution of Ethereum hard forks, client interop workshops, Devcon, Ethereum's culture and steadfast commitment to its mission and values, and more - is in part a result of Aya's stewardship. @AyaMiyagotchi will continue supporting the EF in many of the same ways in her new role. Meanwhile, we have been working on the new EF leadership structure, and will share more news soon. Stay tuned! https://blog.ethereum.org/2025/02/25/aya-announcement

No. And I'm also not a capitalist. Both are 20th century ideologies. (And they are words that have been stretched and abused to the point of meaninglessness: remember, in the 1990s, Microsoft called Linux "communist": https://www.theregister.com/2000/07/31/ms_ballmer_linux_is_communism/ ) I support freedom, global equality of opportunity, kindness and cooperation, human welfare and progress. These are timeless principles. The question is how to use the tools we have available to achieve these values in the context of the 21st century. I've written at length about the kinds of mechanisms I personally support, but I definitely do not think that I am the only source of good ideas, I think figuring out the best approach is a shared project of both thinking and also increasingly real world experimentation.

This is a solid demonstration of Railgun's privacy pools mechanism working in practice, allowing Railgun to avoid serving proceeds of crime without using any snooping / backdoors. How it works: * Anyone can deposit into Railgun. * After you deposit, there is a 1 hour period during which various algorithms detect whether or not the deposit likely came from what the algorithms consider to be criminal activity. * If your deposit passes the filter, then after 1 hour you can use ZKPs to withdraw privately (but ideally wait longer to get a good-enough anonymity set). * If your deposit fails the filter, then you can only withdraw back to your own address. There is no risk that your funds will get frozen/seized, you just can't benefit from the privacy pool. If you disagree with Railgun's filters, anyone is free to fork and make their own pool with their own rules, though if you can't get reasonably wide public support you're going to have a tiny anonymity set. https://x.com/officer_cia/status/1889642583971733983

GM Degens, I know the recent bans didn’t sit well with everyone. We used a rule-based approach to target sybils, but it’s a tough battle, and we’re just two people. If you got caught in the crossfire, I’m sorry. There was collateral damage, but we also hit a lot of big farmers. These decisions aren’t easy, but they’re made for the community’s long-term health. If you’re feeling discouraged, I get it. Tipping was meant to be fun—sharing memes, onboarding new users—not a paycheck. Let’s bring back that energy: meme, create, and enjoy the space without stressing over prices. Moving forward, we’ll act on community reports and evidence instead of broad rules. Policing isn’t fun, but without it, some ruin the game for everyone. Let’s keep it fun—don’t use $DEGEN to pay rent. Create, share, and help us go viral.

We're building the next frontier of tokenized assets alongside Centrifuge. Through Centrifuge and Anemoy's regulated Liquid Treasury Fund (LTF), users of our flagship staking protocol Nest will receive access to compliant, RWA-backed institutional yield opportunities. Anemoy's LTF treasury solution is integrating directly into Nest's T-bill vault, broadening access to high-quality yield on Plume to both retail and institutional entities. Democratized access to wealth-generation, fully onchain. With a renewed interest from the US administration and institutions looking to explore compliant opportunities within the crypto space, we look forward to building a RWAfi future together with Centrifuge. GN Degens, Bans Update We're applying bans as we wrap up Season 12. In Season 13, all bans will be reset, giving everyone a fresh opportunity to earn tips. At the end of each season, we'll reevaluate activity using a rule-based analysis of our choosing to weed out behavior that closely aligns with farming. To prevent gaming the system, we won't announce rules in advance but will use various techniques to monitor how tips are being distributed.
