GM Degens, I know the recent bans didn’t sit well with everyone. We used a rule-based approach to target sybils, but it’s a tough battle, and we’re just two people. If you got caught in the crossfire, I’m sorry. There was collateral damage, but we also hit a lot of big farmers. These decisions aren’t easy, but they’re made for the community’s long-term health. If you’re feeling discouraged, I get it. Tipping was meant to be fun—sharing memes, onboarding new users—not a paycheck. Let’s bring back that energy: meme, create, and enjoy the space without stressing over prices. Moving forward, we’ll act on community reports and evidence instead of broad rules. Policing isn’t fun, but without it, some ruin the game for everyone. Let’s keep it fun—don’t use $DEGEN to pay rent. Create, share, and help us go viral.

Fighting farmers is definitely one of the goals in any projects! There is no doubt about that! I think part of the measures should be education! In fact, the laws should be educational to further encourage people to improve their behavior!

I have been taking photos for about 18 years and I have been in NFT for almost 5 years, my photos have been bought by many collectors and I have never been banned anywhere and never seen as a farmer. I am not sorry for the degenes I cannot claim but it was really disappointing to be banned and seen as a farmer @jacek

Among those who got banned were artists, creators, influencers, and people like myself who truly care about this space, and yeah, it was heartbreaking. But despite everything, I appreciate all you’ve done for the community. I’m with you, and we keep moving forward. The hat stays on 🎩❤️

My fellow artists and I have always used tipping as a means of encouragement and mutual support to continue our work in Web 3 and to expand our art. However, now I am witnessing many artists feeling disheartened and regretting their trust in you. What we expected from you was that, before making such decisions, you would inform those who had trusted you about your plans and rules. After a reasonable period, anyone who violated these rules could have been banned. I believe that artists form a significant part of your project, and therefore, it is expected that you respect their work and regain their trust. The art community has always been supportive of you, and we kindly ask that you continue to be supportive of us as well💜

I've passionately encouraged many deaf photographers to participate through @deafcollective, but this recent ban has left me feeling disheartened and hesitant to continue onboarding them. I'm stepping back from advocating for DEGEN, which once represented such inclusivity and hope. As a disability rights activist and photographer—not a farmer—this situation deeply disappoints me. It's disheartening to witness a space that should be welcoming becoming less so.

You know, i think you should make a loyalty program so that based on some criteria, people receive more allowances. For example, based on the number of seasons they have tipped, or claimed rewards, they will have a multiplier. This way, people try to stay in this space. What do you think?@jacek

Give back the allowance you took and repair your "collateral damage". Besides, Who are you to tell people what they can spend their money on? How easy it is to speak from privilege. Every time you think you're fixing it all you do is screw it up more. The same thing you are doing with your project.

That's a lot of work for you two, but I'm sure it will pay off. Thanks for the transparency! And how about the daily distribution? It got slashed due to farmers and exploiters. Any chance it will be increased to 5M again, now farmers are out? Imo, it is easier to attract real builders and content creators when the (potential) rewards are higher.
