To this day I think esports is greatly underrated, and it blowing up is a "when" not "if" situation. I watch professional sports and esports and the entertainment of both feel the same, but the $$$ involved are 2 to 3 orders of magnitude apart.

I think a big issue is that esports require more indepth knowledge of the game to appreciate. Sports are easier to follow because rules are simple and everyone can appreciate the athletic effort.

eh, still watching people play video games won’t ever compete with watching actual sports esports should be called “video games” i wouldn’t consider them athletes

I think that esports are getting closer. The difficulty of the games are still foreign to certain generations. I think that the live aspect isn't fully perfected on the esports front. It's definitely a when imo. The money, fandom and tech are making all of this bigger and more immersive over time.
