I think adhd brains might have a whacky sleep cycle bc our brains are just like… Whacky? From how I understand it. Plus hormones also can impact the brain. The second brain is our gut One of my colleagues said she did some gut-based thing to help correct her melatonin production cycle. I definitely believe that our tendency to seek out dopamine - a ton of which is made in your gut! - impacts so many other things in our systems that can wonk up our sleep I’ve also heard an anthropological anecdote that it is be theorized that in hunter gatherer communities, people with adhd sounding symptoms were those who did night watches and performed other well-adaptive (?) traits Could it be an evolutionary genetic trait for survival??? Idk
