im seeing lots of posts in various groups im in about ppl feeling fear or pain after the election, or needing to support each other in a challenging time. i have to admit im super confused. what is this, 9/11? what terrible things are people worried about? am i completely out of touch? wtf is going on?

some of this is sort of a performance that people do politically, would probably call this virtue signalling some of it may be related to very specific policies that might impact them, their families like deportation the affective style of politics is trauma, we experience the election of a president either with elation (gloating, talking about the victory and the win as if it has any connection to us, saying "I called it" etc) or grief. been like this my entire life sports teams vibes

also, I try not to judge people for this. we pick it up elsewhere and it doesn't mean our feelings aren't genuine. its extremely common we are what we eat, and we're eating some hyperbolic media

lol trump and the GOP are the ones 'virtue signalling' about what they want to do to both women and trans ppl i truly do not understand where the disbelief from ppl comes in (other than the concerns of trans ppl and women aren't high on dudes priority lists)
