I was literally the opposite as a kid - I would get into such deep hyperfocus reading that my parents couldnβt even get me to lay down the book for meals - the countless food stains on my old books are evidence π

classic example of everything being a spectrum, eh. i wish, i really really wish i was into reading like that. i always felt so dumb growing up for not being able to focus long enough to read a paragraph + understand it too. my mom and brother read a lot and i'd feel left out. oh well.

To be fair, I can only stay engaged if itβs a novel. Ideally easy to read YA novel lol. And then my impatient tend to jump to the last sentence of a paragraph to make everything more efficient π. Can you stay engaged at all if the topic is super interesting to you? Or maybe white/brown noise could help?

ahhh i haven't read in a while but the skipping to the end of para seems familiar ahaha. usually better at staying engaged if there are visuals or audio(this one is tricky cuz only applies to things that REALLY interest me like u said)
