As a kid, I never understood why I had to go to school at 7am. That schedule ruined my sleep for many years. Why do we, as a society, force kids to wake up so early when most jobs start at 9am?

kids don't make the rules, parents do probably the school should start 1 hour before most of the jobs in the area start, so parents have time to bring the kids to school, do admin etc

Both 9-5 office schedule and 7-3 school schedule are probably bye products of the industrial revolution.

My school started at 7:30. My bus arrived 40mins early so I had to get up at 5:20. I’m still fucked because of this. Until 9am I was absolutely useless and napped away all the time. I’m running my own business now and can get up whenever I want.

7 AM is a weird perversion of Romania, they can't cram in an extra hour from 3PM to 4PM, so they just dump it in front and "hey, we're humane".

Because today’s schools are not about education, they are just there to let the parents work. You literally said it in your tweet, kids go to early to allow the parents to go to work.

As a wildland firefighter until 2023... We'd get on the line and have briefing at dawn. 430, 0500. You've got your mother's hands don't you?
