Bought this in a Korean supermarket. Thought it’s kind of fruit. Apparently it’s not, so dry and tastes nothing, not sweet at all. What can I do with it?

Summer is almost over here. So I made some makguksu. I made JungKook’s version. So good! The seaweed was much darker color in person. The picture makes it look way lighter.

Soosoopatdanji is one of Korean traditional rice cakes that we normally make on a baby's 100th day and on a baby's first birthday. This is to prevent bad luck and to pray for the baby's health. This rice cake is made by kneading sticky sorghum powder, cooking it in boiling water, and coating it with fine red bean powder. 9th of September was my baby's 100th day and I decorated the table with the rice cake myself. 🙂

Do you like eggplant? I hated eggplant before coming to Korea but now I can't get enough of it. There are so many good Korean eggplant recipes but this weekend I made Kaji Bokkeum (가지볶음) This recipe results in a crispy fried eggplant, topped with a spicy red pepper and plum "sauce". If that sounds good then here is how to make it: https://youtu.be/-JGg29xawho I have lived in Korea nearly half my life now and I am trying to keep the wife happy by cooking more Korean food, so if you have any suggestions let me know. Fried Eggplant 가지 볶음

I love Korean food and lived in Seoul for two years (my son was born there). I am going to make some japchae and was looking for wood ear mushrooms. The lady at the Korean store in town told me these were them...but looking online it says that these aren't them. I am just hoping I got the right kind. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it. I'm going to make it for dinner tonite. 🙂 Thank you! 🙂

Hello everyone. Whenever I taste the “cup version” of some ramyon I like, I tend to find them less tasty than the bag version. This time I was very pleased because the Shin super spicy in a cup taste as good as those in the bag. I have just the impression that they are a tiny bit less spicy. But they were delicious. These are still my preferred ramyon so far.

Drinking tea at home is a kind of quiet enjoyment. It allows us to put our busy life on hold temporarily, talk to ourselves, taste the aroma of tea soup, and feel the peace of mind.
