In case you were wondering, we jumped straight to Christmas in most places.  Stores skipped the rest of autumn and most hotel displays are now FIRMLY Christmas themed. Proof.

Elevator, music and hotel music is 95% Disney one percent Michael Bolton and 4% random American jazz 

Last year made my first trip to Japan in the November-December period, impressive how hard Tokyo goes on Christmas. Hotel bar had a pianist belting out Christmas tunes for a couple hours every evening (along w some select Disney tunes).

Yes! We do this in the U.S. too but w have Thanksgiving in between so we get a little more autumn vibes for a while. But many many places start Christmas as soon as Halllween is over. Including Disney! If you time it right you can enjoy their Halloween setup and then it’s Christmas the next morning!

Japan is moving fast in the commercial market.
As soon as Halloween is over, this is what we get.
New Year's, Setsubun, Girls' Festival, Cherry Blossoms, New School Entrance, New working adults, Koi Noboris.
It changes quickly from one to another. 🐥

It’s just hilarious because in most of Japan, it’s still pretty warm and the leaves haven’t changed at all and now it’s like, screw Fall, let’s go Christmas!

They don't have Thanksgiving in Japan. So...probably a logical step.

No Thanksgiving in Japan so makes sense!  Same thing in France when I was just there.

Alot of people start Christmas decor early, I like it sm cause it’s my fav season 😌

It feels like the holidays start earlier every year. Do you think it takes away from the spirit of autumn?
