Iโ€™d love to get the /replyguys take on this. When I first joined the platform 8 months ago, being a thoughtful and fun replyguy/gal was the best way to meet people on the platform. Now I think I should encourage new folks not to do this, but rather be extra careful in their engagement and only reply when you have something very thoughtful to say (for people who donโ€™t follow you) How are you all thinking about this and what are you telling new people?consolidated all the info about spam labels I could find. If you see something I should add here, please let me know! https://p1yefcr.warpcast.tools/api/frames/cold-goose-28

2/2 Again, posting/replying/retweeting a lot is bad, might be considered a bot. Writing little (I have on statistics for yesterday day 55 messages out of 300) is also not very good, you do not reach the green zone. But not everyone has the opportunity to be online all day. What to do? Maybe I wrote stupid things, but that's how I see this situation. And for some people it will seem like I wrote above, but for me it is important. In general, there are two sides to every coin. Thanks, pichi, for raising the topic and to all those who read this to the end ( if they did).๐Ÿ˜€

In my opinion pinning a set of guidelines in the channel can be really helpful for newcomers. It provides clarity and ensures everyone knows the expectations right from the start

How do you advise new users to build meaningful connections without over-relying on replies?

I used to live this channel. Everything has changed and the new rules will push it even further distant.

honestly i think the main thing is just don't overthink it in real life you don't need to join every conversation or need to say something every time somebody speaks - and over time, you'll find the people that you vibe with will have a conversation with you just apply the same rules irl on here and you don't have to worry about the spam label

Wsrcast spam detector should evaluate the person's recent casts and replys first, in order to label spammer on the person. Just with a few replys to some non followers without examining the content of replys, you can't decide whether its spam or not.

Gm, Pichi! 1/2 The topic, of course, is a painful one for everyone. It is quite difficult for new users and users of small accounts to draw attention to themselves, to show something worthwhile to the community, to publish an interesting or important message, because what for this user will seem important and interesting for a larger account may seem insignificant and not worth attention. On the other hand, spam should be fought against, including ignoring incomprehensible messages from unknown people. And how to find this balance is not an easy task. I think it would be a good idea to introduce something like curating/recommending larger accounts over new users or a badge like PB that this account is not a bot/spam (by doing a proper check).

this might be a bit utopian. but the algo should evolve and iterate to accommodate the community and not the other way round. have made many connections just through replies. some of them were profound (maybe), some of them were goofy, and some of them were just "gm". maybe am being too optimistic but just be yourself, have the right intention, and you will be fine eventually. i think we can do this.

Being new is tough and I still think replies are the way to get going. The spam label makes being new stressful. I check all of the messages on my posts especially the spam ones and some are very low effort, and my bar is really low, lol. So, I get that they want to filter low effort content and that it's a work in progress. The warning is a good thing. We'll see what happens.
