As an AI artist, I often feel like I’m an imposter. I had an early run in with someone who was kind to me until they found out that I used AI tools and told me I wasn’t a real artist and I was stealing visibility from others with talent. A good friend in the space convinced me to keep putting myself out there because art is art. The tools and techniques don’t matter. Your creations will stand on their own or they will not. Let the market decide. I’m glad I took his advice and pushed forward. I create for myself and as long as I’m happy with my work and effort, I can keep going, even if some days I want to scream.

I work with AI and traditional as well as purely digital means of creation. I think there's room at the table for everyone. Artists should first and foremost be worried about conveying emotion and telling the story of time and place, not about who is stealing visibility from them.

That person was probably more pissed they couldn’t tell it was AI. Generative art is becoming its own medium and more it’s a powerful tool for traditional artists as well. There will always be purists and traditionalists but it takes people pushing boundaries to break new creative ground. There’s enough room for everyone pick their lane. 🍖x42

I feel like that too, but as long as it's beautiful i share it. I've seen plenty of physical art that is awful (especially at farmer's markets) and they felt like they could share it so why not share something beautiful. But i did remove artist from my profile and changed it to creator, but that's my choice. 50 $DEGEN

this was my personal opinion as well and I understand that i'm not a real artist either but I know that i am creative in many aspects too, so I'm not totally an imposter! but rather a creative person that uses a tool to visualize what he has in mind. honestly it's not a bad thing, i may not be talented with a brush or digital tools like @missmocha but it doesn't make me any less of a creative person to visualize what I have in mind. it's not a crime against humanity to use your creativity to materialize what you have in your mind. this is year 2024 and mark my word in near future you will be able to create many things using your imagination and not your hands. and that's fascinating. we may not be painters, but we're still creative.

I had a similar experience in my early web3 days when a “friend” told me that my art wasn’t good and I should stop posting it online. So I did, for almost a year. Until my best friend @beatsbyoptic pushed me to start sharing it again unapologetically. I’m so grateful we both had supporters in our corners 🫂

I love this scream 😱 Ofcourse you are an artist! AI doesn’t generate art on it’s own, it needs your input/ideas to be able to generate something. And it can be quite difficult to get the results you are looking for. I’m glad you continued making art and I’m looking forward to see more. And maybe some resin art as well?

AI is a tool. Just like different types of paints or brushes. Not everyone can use them well even if they are easily accessible.
