What makes an account "inauthentic"? We're considering a new labelling system for inauthentic accounts. These accounts, often incorrectly called bots, will be hidden from like counts and other metrics in Warpcast. Inauthentic accounts give real people the ick because they're clearly trying to get value for their account at the expense of everyone else on the network.

@geoffgolberg you probably see patterns I never see. For example, I wouldn’t know if someone followed 100 accounts quickly. I only notice when they reply directly to my casts. But I’m sure you have many thoughts to add to this discussion.

The reason people constantly replied to you wasn’t always out of genuine engagement it was to get visibility and validation within the system. When a social hierarchy is put into the platform, people have no real choice but to perform. They behave in ways they think will get them seen, not in ways that reflect who they truly are. That’s the real inauthenticity one the system quietly incentivizes
