What's on your mind re: Farcaster?

Feels like there's been a subtle uptick in negativity recently directed at a variety of people / teams. I'd rather that be directed my way.

Curious to hear what people are frustrated with in the replies.

Will only ask clarifying questions, i.e. no arguing or defending or telling you that you're wrong.

And then I'll do a video response in a few days sharing our latest thinking based on any common themes.

Shadow bans and power badges left a bad taste. A lot of non native English speakers left and are hard to lure back. The spam labels aren’t helping. Without clean definitions of what’s “spammy” and no transparency into what labels we’ve been given by the team and algo, a lot of people don’t have the energy to try to figure out the unwritten rules to make it here.

Most of my community in /anime-manga is labeled spammy, but this is my assumption. I don’t get notified when they reply to my casts, so I assume it’s because they are marked as spam. I have notifications turned on for when members post to the channel and I still don’t get notifications that they post.   

Nothing is worse than being ignored and they think I ignore them when the truth is I don’t see their cast unless I hunt for them. 

They purchased membership to my channel. They are trying to participate. But they don’t know the unwritten rules. Many are not native English speakers and the nuisance of being “spammy” is extremely difficult to convey.

Who is an artist in my channel. Looking at their profile they don’t look spammy and post a lot of original content.

Do you have examples of accounts that have been incorrectly labeled spammy recently?

Yes. I hear it over and over. I had so many friends leave and haven’t been able to convince them to come back.

There should be more transparency on this. A notification like 'hey, you've been labeled as a spammer' and have a possibility to appeal or at least get more information. I have been marked as spammer before and got out of it, and I have no idea how I achieved that. I have two friends that have been labeled too and I'd love to help them to get out as well.
