Farcaster's open and permissionless data model is great while we're still a small, high-trust community. But it's fundamentally at odds with privacy. I'm not sure we've fully internalized the consequences of having a permanent history of our speech tied to our financial records.

imo we will all need public and private/obfuscated wallets. We should only show what we choose to show about financial records, e.g. indicator of proof of work/stake, etc.

Difficult to have private wallets when privacy preserving protocols like Tornado and Aztec cannot remain running due to legal pressure

I’m open to updating my mental model on this, but I think for a regular user using a CEX with multiple deposit addresses is enough. Never letting your “savings” wallets cross paths with your public wallets. Connecting to Tornado can lead to blacklisting for some cases.
