I don't know anyone who bought one after the preorder window. Reviews were almost uniformly bad.

As I understand it, production of the cheaper Vision Pro has been delayed beyond 2027 for a while now. This means Apple's only new head-mounted display device in 2025 will be the Vision Pro with an upgraded M5 processor.

I think what really drove Apple to delay the cheaper…

I feel like the reviews were mostly “this is really cool” but also “I don’t have anything to do with it right now.”

VR is still too early.

I haven’t even tried them on. The price point kinda triggered me over how Apple abandoned freelancers. Feels very much like they want to output toys or higher priced machines to the studios.

Form factor needs tons of work. Needs more apps. Price point way out of reach for most. More of a novelty than a necessity, even as a luxury gadget. Shit was DOA imo. Call me when they look like regular glasses and we’ll chat.
