I recently picked up a copy of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth. I had read the Century trilogy a long time ago and remembered liking it, so I decided to give it a go. Wow. Five days and lots of lost sleep later, I finished it. It is a tome, coming in at nearly 1,000 pages of dense dialogue, character development, and plenty of historical tidbits. Highly recommend.

Altered Carbon because I love the cynicism of the characters. The writer uses irony so weeeell.
