software is extremely high leverage. take a company at gitlab's stage. what does it look like after 10 more years of code? how wide of surface do they cover? one product -> multi-product "framework" (e.g., gitlab following "verbs" of devops) -> ???

we can also observe this through binance pushing their BUSD like crazy - no-fee trading on BUSD pairs, etc.

Extremely uncomfortable to post something online, get negative feedback from strangers and have the willpower to say thank you and move on

Its a time thing imo. If the VP is willing to spend time on it then you can rev directly with them If they cant, you get the endless people trying to predict in order to get things approved in one shot

I agree - the dream case here is that Figma gets to dictate product development while leveraging the insane distribution. The friction here is what happens when revenue slows or when other teams start pestering Figma for dependencies

Once the acquisition happens, he’s no longer in charge no matter what he says now. Immediately the way they prioritize will change

BigCo life is about 10 people asking each other “well what do YOU think the VP wants?” and the analyst having to write and rewrite until all 10 are happy Then an 11th person says it’s too long and we should trim it down
