For Cellular Automata freaks. Stephen Wolframs epic 1197 page overview of 'all known' species of CA's and their philosophical importance for ideas about universality in digital systems and computational irreducibility. Also tonnes of gorgeous graphics :) Online here > https://www.wolframscience.com/nks/

The outputs of formal systems such as Cellular Automata create aesthetics that are interesting in their own right. In a NKS some of the outputs nod in the direction of purely geometric abstraction.

'Wolfram's science is not new except when it is clearly wrong' - Mandelbrot. Ouch.

A pity for the ugly cover… Prefer this less fancy one (cover, not book).
