seeing stark difference in approach/mindset in founders from 2020/21 who raised 4-10mm and now default dead vs those who raised recently or are starting something new despite 2020/21 founding experience.

many in 2020 cohort not mature/nuanced and still trying to chase trends vs independent thesis about markets and conviction

i felt it was tons of 2 in recent convos. many didn't understand what early marination of ideas meant or how markets are created. they assume absolute bangers can be seen/exist from day one. i felt a bit of fomo in others. takes courage but i respect those who return $ and reset early vs treating vc as trust fund daddy paying minimal salary. it is painful. but would rec 10/10

1. Founder probs raised in 20/21 chasing prev narratives (guilty!)
2. Founder learning the wrong lessons (hopefully not? idk)
3. Founder looking at the $40M+ Val and realizing a 10x from there doesn't make sense in 95% of the avenues they could pursue

the independent thesis you re talking about - may be those are early bets on trends itself? kinda not convinced this is still the case as most founders will launch tokens in bull market to get an exit (hence short term mindset)

The VC ecosystem further perpetuates this during their due diligence.
