i continue to find higher fascinating

nouns and higher are both headless brands but the *absence* of the dao seems to make it more obvious to higher fans that permissionless participation is welcome and encouraged

the *presence* of a fungible token also creates more economic alignment amongst the fan base. any fan can buy any amount of $higher that fits for them. there’s a feeling of shared squad wealth that bitcoin has, ethereum has, that higher has but nouns does not bc most nouns fans don’t own nouns nfts

of course the inverse of the above is also higher’s weaknesses. even with a $30m mkt cap, it’s probably hard to coordinate funding $100k+ or $1m+ community projects atm. bitcoin with its $1.5T mkt cap routinely struggles to raise ~$10m / yr for its ~50 core open source devs. tragedy of the commons is a real thing esp as you grow further

Nouns was the first project that really captured my imagination. Learning @seneca was a fellow RISD grad got me excited, and the CC0 philosophy, and focus on public goods felt truly net new. 

But having to buy a noun or pitch a proposal to participate made it feel all-or-nothing, and I wasn't at that point, so I admired from the outside.

With higher I made one meme on Zora, @lght.eth recasted me, and I was in.

Agree with 40 that both models have their strengths, they probably make each other better. 

Maybe there's room for a Nouns X Higher derivative collection, minted in H and used to fund things that require more focused coordination.

The coin 40 mentioned $nouns I believe does just that, it’s backed by the NFTs in a pool

I love Nouns too but I’ve been priced out of minting my own. $Higher is as easy to buy as anything else.

Maybe if there was a way to fractionalize Nouns it would help.

I’ve seen $Noggles try to solve this problem but didn’t know if it’s an official Nouns project.
