In 2012 I asked my Secret Santa for one Bitcoin. I got instead an Amazon gift voucher for 20 USD. Why did I ask for such? I research artists who create currencies as a form of conceptual art. Some are in analog form, some are digital, and some are on the blockchain. My research methodology is very participatory, so I also try new technologies and create my own conceptual art pieces. (spoiler: I got Bitcoin soon after that Christmas by other means)

I was separate completely from my web2 business when covid first hit visiting family back on the west coast. I had already been tech and web3 curious going back to 2012 and it became a sink or swim moment where I had to make a huge pivot to survive. Luckily I adapted quickly and was able to find my footing in web3 and art. Haven't looked back since but without it Im not sure what would have happened to me at that time to be honest.

TLDR: I was showing sheep and training dogs got into fashion and realized how dirty it can be, started AI to help but it got abused found crypto for transparency without abuse got hooked. LetsGROW

I listened to a podcast with Mila Kunis and had a 🤯 moment that Ethereum was tech, made @lanadingwall listen to the pod, consumed every Bankless episode in 3 months and both of us ended up winning a scholarship to travel to ETHDenver 6 months later

I was onboarded to crypto at the same time I moved from my home city to a small town in the mountains. Both meant freedom. It was March 2022. It was a crazy year without WiFi. I went from being scammed before even funding my wallet to starting a local Web3 project where we plant trees with the community and measure the impact! (@forkforest). Its a long wild ride frens

I was at design school in 2016, we had to do an industry project and the partner was a bank...they wanted us to develop a "neo-finance" idea and I found that super boring as a premise. So me and the person I was working with decided to use that part of the course to research Blockchain. We used the research budget to buy bitcoin at a bar in town. We spent about a week reading papers and watching videos of Vitalik to figure things out. We then made and presented a project that of course no one could understand as they had zero knowledge of crypto / Blockchain. So I decided to make another project called 'What The Block' which is a game-based workshop using Lego that onboards people (even people who don't understand anything about technology) to Blockchain in an hour using Lego :) I did that for a while in my spare time and ended up on-boarding ~ 1000 ppl across 3 continents through IRL sessions https://designawards.core77.com/Design-Education-Initiative/82843/What-The-Block

But as the market dipped, I discovered blockchain's true potential—beyond profits, it’s about innovation and freedom. I shifted focus, learning and building. By 2023, I was part of a project revolutionizing finance. 2024 i discovered warpcast. The journey was tough, but it led to real growth and a brighter future.

My joke has always been that while folks were baking bread or watching Netflix during the pandemic lockdown a friend recommended I start investing and recommended bitcoin. But seriously, the more I learned, the more I knew we had to make sure lack of in-language information was not a barrier so on October 2021 I launched @cryptoconexion to provide Spanish- language content that was free and not too technical so that it was accessible 🙌

I was a mother of two looking for ikigai when I found crypto 😅 I woke up one day suddenly wanting to create NFT collection for good cause 😂 that’s how I met @paulburg.eth on Facebook, when I sent my idea out to public it turned out someone else is already in crypto for good on little our island. So that’s how we met and ReFi Phangan started, and then GreenPill Phangan and EcoSynthesisX appeared. Then was deep dive in X too because I was never on that platform. My mom honestly thought that I’m a scammer or something when she heard “crypto” and until now she doesn’t understand what am I working with, but she says that’s all what is in my mind 😂 endless spaces where I was afraid to speak, struggling with difficult terms and not my native language. But here I am, exploring ways to create alternative economy, supporting public goods 👋

Have an experience of 8 years in web2, got tired of listening to others and work according to them. left the job and got into crypto since 3 years and never looked back. kind of surviving right now with airdrops and degen plays but I got my own stuff and own boss, gonna make it soon.

web3 bankless artist I joined into crypto back in 2017, my university had broke due the social context and i've found myself with 17 years and a bunch of original songs that a friend told me to put onchain, my first song won a 1st prize and some $$ that impacted my life so much, i was in a bad situation and since then i got inspired to share my journey in web3 wich leaded me to learn english hosting bilingual shows in @tokensmart, since then i have contributed in DAOs and web3 communities on different blockchains where i learn about the technology, improve my english and invest time into my passion, the intersection of music x social impact.
