I have spent a long time thinking about this and one thing you have to be really careful about is straying into illiberalism when you get too lost in the food is poison sauce Yes the FDA food division is slow moving garbage Are we fat sick and unhealthy Yes But also Americans LOVE their junk food. And at a certain point with this you start getting into a dictation of personal choices right up there with vaccine mandates. Tough problem

gov facilitating a more competitive health insurance market wherein policy holders pay increased premiums for higher risk lifestyles could be interesting want to eat junk? knock yourself out. no more negative externalities

I have thought this wrt to vaccines themselves too How do we understand what people are eating would be the big question Financial surveillance watch credit cards? 😬 Self reports seem too fallible

sharing basic annual biomarkers seems like it'd be sufficient? those unwilling to share may find it difficult to get insured, which seems like a reasonable outcome

There are many reasons why a persons biomarkers would be bad independent of personal choices Basically repeal pre existing conditions provison of ACA is what you are saying reading between the lines I would also ask that car surveillance be a part of this as monitoring choices should extend to other risky behaviors
