I think this is an instance of availability bias. For hiring, especially such a big role, I like to think about who the best person in the whole world is, and then go from there. Lex seems to have AI chops, is a BJJ black belt, and is good at social media, but I don’t think that makes him a world class twitter ceo

I don’t see any skills or experience that lead me to believe he would do a good job. I like Lex, but making tough calls doesn’t seem like something he does in life. People underestimate leadership a lot, they always think of the easy part of the job.

Not ultra familiar with his background but I'd hesitate given his lack of leadership/management experience

I support it. Decent probability it wouldn’t work out, but he has a lot of good qualities for the role.

I love Lex and ik he'd work insanely hard to do his best... but no. - Lex is lovable b/c he's a neutral/independent voice. Becoming CEO would open him up to criticism that he's biased in favor of a particular company. - His Kanye interview proves he sometimes overestimates the power of his empathy to change minds.

No. I like his shows but that doesn't qualify him to be CEO.

I like Lex, but don't think he's ever started a business or managed anything outside of his podcast business (maybe 1 or 2 people max?) At least John Legere , who made a similar tweet month ago, would be somewhat relevant in terms of turning a business that was bad >> good

It’ll be interesting especially if he shoehorns his dream social network where people have their own interactive curation AIs for their feed.
