The latest version of DeepSeek, which made many headlines about its impressive performance, is completely open-source. I remember Altman in an interview in the early days of ChatGPT saying, there's no competition and that he's light years away from everybody. It's funny how light years work.

100%. The entire purpose of these programs is to collect data from everywhere on the Internet, why wouldn't it collect the information you give it then be stores in its home country? You have to assume that any data you give will be stored and used against you… like America today. OpenAI has historically breached data privacy protection laws. It’s not ironic β€œopen” exists in the name.
