This Sunday marks the New Year for Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia! Water symbolizes cleansing, renewal, and good fortune. The traditional "water fights" are a globally recognized celebration. If you want to learn more about the culture (outside of White Lotus), search for "Thai or Lao Temple" to visit or support local families by ordering from nearby "TLC" restaurants. I'm cooking my fave dishes for community lunch at the Queens location.

In Fintech land, there's chatter about Stripe "becoming a bank." The great state of Georgia has accepted the Stripe subsidiary Strategic Payments MALPB to operate as a bank HQ'ed there. Remember, Georgia processes 80% of USA's transactions so this is a strategic move to operate on the rails that already exist. The application outlines that Strategic Payments MALPB aims to provide credit and debit card services and expand its merchant acquiring capabilities through partnerships, particularly to become a member of Visa and Mastercard networks.

I'm learning how to use wallets. Here's what I'm confused about and constantly stuck on. Why does Coinbase have so many apps for different wallets that don't naturally speak to each other? Coinbase, Wallet, Smart Wallet, and Base. I understand that Coinbase takes on the fiduciary responsibility which provides utility to networks. I understand you can have multiple wallets for different use cases. It's like different accounts under a bank; savings, checking, 401k, loans, etc. However, that's often under one unified "experience" if all are under the same institution irregardless of division.
