Reading Naomi Klein's Doppelganger and Kyle Chayak's Filterworld in quick succession provides a pretty holistic overview of all the impact algorithmically filtered experiences online can have. Filterworld: commodifying, and flattening culture Doppelganger: hollow out humans by turning them into (static) brands, fostering divide Add to that some Byung-Chul Han, Society of the Spectacle by Debord and a little of Baudrillard's concept of Hyperreality and you get a good grasp of why life with Big Tech feels as it does. Any other books you'd recommend falling into that theme?

Zou won't regret. There are also some great interviews with the authors out there on the web to get a first taste. I am thinking I might curate a little reading list and supplement some of the articles and essays I read that also fall into the overarching theme.
