Tried to onboard people to crypto / Base / ETH over the weekend at a wedding with different levels of success. 

Will dive deeper into the results but there was one overwhelming theme. 

“Isn’t that all a scam” 

How do we fix this overall sentiment towards crypto?

I think what they're really saying is "I don't see the utility yet, other than for scammers"

Nah not really, it is just a sentiment of frustration from misunderstanding or bad experiences with bad actors. It is not that people fully understand what is happening neither

I don’t think it is our responsibility to change how people feel or think about certain issues. Instead, we should focus on creating spaces that foster exploration and discovery, especially in areas filled with negative noise, like NFTs and web3. The real challenge is not to impose a 'correct' perspective but to provide environments where individuals can engage with these concepts on their own terms. If we can facilitate positive experiences and highlight the potential of these technologies, people might naturally shift their sentiments over time.
Whereas trying to force a change in someone’s mindset can backfire, often leading to resistance or negative feelings. This is similar to the skepticism that arises around financial wellness advice and the so-called 'evangelists' of various methods; their heavy-handed approach can alienate rather than inspire. Ultimately, the most impactful change comes from collective understanding and organic engagement, not from a top-down approach.

Right so why hasn't anybody been able to update that sentiment? Because there's no utility yet for normies.
