The "chill guy" meme and the trivialization of stoicism: "The world is falling apart, but I’m chill." "I have no friends, I live in loneliness, nobody loves me, but hey, I’m chill." "I’m chill guy. I’m cool. Nothing bothers me." It’s a dangerous mindset because it pushes us to stop reacting. Being "chill" all the time means we’re not processing our emotions, and reason itself is deeply tied to our emotional system. When we’re chill about everything, we lose perspective. Sure, staying calm has its place, but constantly brushing things off as "no big deal" disconnects us from reality—and from ourselves (redacted)
