Hellebore (Helleborus exotica)๐ฎ
Hellebore is a plant with large and beautiful flowers that can be white, pink or purple in color. They grow in the subtropical and temperate climates of Eurasia and North America. Hellebore is distinguished by its hardiness and can continue to bloom even in the cold winter months.
There are from 15 to 22 species of hellebore in nature. In central Russia, black hellebore (Helleborus niger) is traditionally grown, which, despite its high resistance to low temperatures, is not always reliable. In other regions, such species and varieties as M. blushing (H. purpurascens), M. ornamental (H. torquatus), M. fragrant (H. odorus), M. oriental, or Caucasian (H. orientalis), as well as its subspecies are also grown โ all of them were derived from the original species for their decorative qualities, recognized in the 18th century, after centuries of use in folk medicine. 1 reply

Rafflesia arnoldi ๐น
Rafflesia arnoldi is one of the largest flowers in the world. It can reach a diameter of up to 1 meter and weigh up to 11 kg. This flower grows only on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo, which are located in Indonesia and Malaysia. Arnold's rafflesia is known for its bright red color and unique smell, reminiscent of rotting meat. The flower blooms for only a few days, after which it dies.
Rafflesia may seem like a flower at first glance, but it's actually something else entirely. This plant is a parasite, meaning it does not need photosynthesis and has no leaves, stems, or roots that are actively involved in this process. The nutrients necessary for its growth come from the sap of the host plant, which it extracts with the help of sucking roots. Therefore, the owner is chosen carefully and treated carefully so as not to cause excessive harm. Only some plant species can serve as hosts for Arnold's Rafflesia, since their root sap is able to initiate seed germination. 0 reply
