I think the replacement is “user”…eg “I’m an android user vs iOS user”…basically a continuation of the “consumer” thread as far as identity goes. 

Although if we’re looking at archetype from a psychic viewpoint (in a Jungian archetype sense) it’s a continuation of archetypal identity

Fwiw imo this identity appeals to a more primitive archetype dealing with essential aspects of identity, purpose, and belonging. Which scares the existential shit out of me bc it’s also the same archetype that deals with addiction
