there is a certain type of person that complains about how older MBPs had a bunch more ports, yet doesn’t appreciate how incredible it is that recent models have three or four 40gbps (!!) ports that can do pretty much anything

that's me, my 2012 mbp with the dropout battery was one of the best laptops I ever had. I have the new M4 but give me five usb-c ports and an ethernet port.

I also had a 2012 and it was a good machine, for sure.

just think that being able to run a tb4/5 dock through a single port to cover all the functionality (and more) previously afforded by 4+ ports, is pretty cool.
