Sometimes this industry feels like a variant of The Dark Knight quote:

“You either die a builder, or you live long enough to see yourself become the scammer”

Whether you want to admit it or not, the crypto industry has mostly been a vehicle for dishonorable behavior

Your options after internalizing this are:
- capitulate to dishonorable behavior
- leave the industry 
- keep the faith that one day this will change 
- cognitive dissonance

I vacillate between #3 and #4

My response to this question is just to keep in mind history, and how while crypto has fraud, there have been some awful nation state level financial crimes. The reality is nation states have historically done some awful economic and financial crimes under the guise of the state and caused countless harms. Political targeting, snap economic policy, overnight currency devaluations, debanking, etc., have always happened since antiquity.

We are not optimizing for public safety as defined by your current local elected leadership which can change, leaving you under the power of your worst enemy.

We are optimizing for maximum individual freedom.
