Verbal > Written comms Being able to understand what is motivating the person I'm talking to and tailor my message to persuade them is natural for me Writing has never clicked in the same way Part of me wants to learn to write better, part wants to lean into verbal communication more Thoughts?

To clarify, it seems like you're specifically talking about conversational, not just verbal? Do you find that your goal/purpose for the conversation changes the medium you prefer? For me, I'm leaning into writing more & better because writing is a thinking process. I tend to process verbally, but it doesn't scale.

False dichotomy. Both have their place. Different mediums for different messages.

Writing slows down the thought process. You can vomit words with the mouth very quickly and likely not remember everything you said but if you vomit words on a page, you can see what a mess it is and clean it up.
