We will be homeschooling! For us it has absolutely nothing to do with finances and every to do with making sure our children are well rounded and have good support. I think the school system as a whole is very one size fits all and if you don't fit you don't thrive. I went to really really good public schools (HS was categorized as college prep when I attended). And I don't feel like I had the support I needed to thrive. I have loads and loads of thoughts in this subject

This is sort of my take, my oldest wants to be a comedian. Absolutely loves performing and is quite funny/good Why shouldn't I just encourage him deeply there?

I think this is great! That's actually one of my major qualms about the school system. People learn best when they're interested in something. Obviously kids, homeschooled or not, will need to learn some things they aren't particularly interested in but overall I think they need to be free to explore their interests. When I finished high school I was expected to go to college but I had absolutely zero idea what I wanted to do. I think that's in part because I was never able to explore my interests. It's also wild to expect someone to decide what they'd like to do with their life at 18
