I don’t think anyone in the world produces official documents describing where they sit on a spectrum. You can consider the perspective of the FN in France and Meloni in Italy who refuse to engage with them, or right-wing German conservative parties for that matter. They’re an anti-EU pro-Russian party.

I've interviewed AfD activists in Germany, they describes themselves avowedly as belonging to the radical right and are also seen as that by mainstream right and center-right conservatives. Presumably by this standard there is literally no one on the political spectrum who could be called far-right.

Seems obvious. He wrote an article endorsing the AfD in German elections which is as far right as it gets in Europe. There’s not even another party further on the spectrum.

When I was a kid the Carl Sagan books really blew my mind about this issue of scale. But that size also suggests to me the greater space that should exist to foment abundant life in infinite permutations. So then where are these guys at?? Maybe already here or observing us as irrelevant bugs…

My high level take: If there were other life in an infinite universe at least one of them would’ve been advanced enough to make contact with us. Otherwise they already have and we are just unaware of it

When I was 18, I started playing EverQuest like 8 hours a day… sometimes more… my play time was in the years category. When I quit playing it, I told myself I would not waste my life like that on another game. 👀 Lately, I just play Monopoly on the Xbox online. It has an end! 😂 I still have my EQ account and the game is still going with new developments. It will never end.

Elon Musk defecting to the far-right was an unbelievable Black Swan moment for politics in the West. One of the most influential individuals in the world aligning their politics with what had been a relative ideological fringe and even buying popular distribution for them was an unprecedented step that has already had real world impacts. A few years ago it seemed that liberal progressivism was still on an unstoppable roll but I think that Musk may succeed in halting or even destroying it over time.
