Even though this is ostensibly a tech-dominated platform at present there are quite a few people I have encountered on Farcaster who are knowledgeable about politics, history, and even literature and philosophy. I’m genuinely impressed and can often get a good sense of others knowledge because of the right-sized message limits that encourage complex expression without sacrificing concision. One thing I love about the internet is that if you use it right it’s actually like a crowdsourcing tool for having millions of mini-teachers giving lessons around the clock. You could probably create a decent magazine or other publication drawing from tech people who have bases of knowledge in other fields, particularly the humanities. Any worthwhile intellectual project for public consumption is usually a team effort on some level with everyone bringing a different set of strengths.

Philosophy, my diploma is about sufism and Rumi. Now posting stupid pictures on FC. At the moment how I see farcaster - one half is developing blockchain technologies and testing on the fly, another half is masking, haming, moxing. Romero: *farts* => 100 comments “hello sir what did you eat today?”.

Yes, and I had to learn a bit of Persian to be/seem more specific/professional. After that I went for another 4 years in IT bachelor degree but didn’t finish it due to work at startup. Writing another diploma on some basic IT topic after 99 pages about Sufism and working on object detection and document recognition seemed pointless🙂. I really hope that FC becomes something more than about crypto one day.
