FC hub design forces all hubs to copy and broadcast all messages, the implications of this legally are dizzying... political speech is one thing, but what happens when-not-if someone starts uploading bomb recipes, state secrets, plans to actively harm others, or child abuse material? isn't it possible that operating a Hub could be illegal in some jurisdictions? what about just indexing a Hub, for 3rd party services? will the innevitable /nakedkids channel be eligible for Moxie rewards? etc
there's some kinds of "speech" that are outright harmful, and while "censorship resistant" is an important property for our financial networks, maybe it's not unconditionally good in our social networks. as early users, builders and pioneers, we are responsible for thinking about these things. 1 reply
