Would Warpcast allow people to say and share whatever they want irrespective of political leaning and context? If so then people could just create Telegram channel equivalents on Warpcast channels. They would need to be able to handle a high volume of data.

Till now all good so far I have been canceled on all platforms because I talk about my family in Palestine and how they get murdered by bombs. When I did it here folks didn't cancel me

There are no guarantees of freedom of speech in warpcast But if you have a community that needs to coordinate in the open everyone in that community can use an alternative client such as opencast, which you can run yourself https://github.com/stephancill/opencast I’ve been meaning to make it easier to run yourself, but have been busy with other projects

eventually they would run into the same issue as Telegram, because Warpcast is a centralized entity. So Warpcast would be at risk, but not farcaster, since anyone could spin up a copy cat of warpcast and keep the same feed & social graph OG warpcast was using.

Warpcast, the client, is built & run by a centralized co. in California so will be subject to applicable regulations.

Warpcast might not allow it but the beauty of Farcaster is that you can use an alternative client or even write to the protocol directly. In this way it is censorship resistant.

Warpcast can censor on their front end but the base protocol is permissionless. Not private tho so not sure how much people would want to migrate their tg channels over

Warpcast no (bc under the constraint of Apple Store rules, and probably cloudflare rules) but Farcaster yes A while back someone posted p0rn and it was promptly nerfed

Warpcast is owned and operated by a US corporation that will abide by US laws. DCs aren't e2e encrypted nor decentralized yet. Casts are decentralized though. So other clients can choose to show content that Warpcast won't (if that were to happen). (these are my own views)

Think we need to ask ourselves is we also want censorship resistance for drug dealers and war mongers? Its more nuanced than just "freedom of speech" imo

FC hub design forces all hubs to copy and broadcast all messages, the implications of this legally are dizzying... political speech is one thing, but what happens when-not-if someone starts uploading bomb recipes, state secrets, plans to actively harm others, or child abuse material? isn't it possible that operating a Hub could be illegal in some jurisdictions? what about just indexing a Hub, for 3rd party services? will the innevitable /nakedkids channel be eligible for Moxie rewards? etc there's some kinds of "speech" that are outright harmful, and while "censorship resistant" is an important property for our financial networks, maybe it's not unconditionally good in our social networks. as early users, builders and pioneers, we are responsible for thinking about these things.
