Year-over-year polling by the ASEAN studies institute shows precipitous decline in support for aligning with the U.S. against China. Curious what happened in the past year that has rapidly turned off so many Asian countries towards the United States. Elections? Gaza conflict? This is a critical theatre for the United States to retain popular support especially as its rivalry with China heats up. https://www.iseas.edu.sg/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/The-State-of-SEA-2024.pdf

Why would you want to align with a country already concerned with wars in Europe and the Middle East?

imo countries like ID MY BN, it has to do a lot with the israel-hamas conflict due to muslim majority population, whereas MM TH LA are notorious for their golden triangle that has been rumored running human trafficking and pig-butchering scams linked to chinese authorities. PH has always been US's ally with a base over there, and SG though stated preference is neutral, has always leaned towards US. VN though communist like china, post-war has been improving ties with US and soured with china because of south-china-sea territorial issue. idk much about KH though.

Эксперты отмечают, что изменение отношения азиатских стран к США может быть обусловлено различными факторами, включая геополитические сдвиги, экономическую зависимость и общественное мнение. Необходимо провести более глубокий анализ данных и контекста для понимания этой динамики.
