Audiophiles: how is the market for quality sound systems doing? Do people still buy living room amp/speaker systems and attach to TVs? Feels like everyone just gives up and uses headphones or simple built-in speakers on TVs/computers/phones these days. And afaik speaker tech hasn’t gotten much smaller physically.

Home audio stuff is an area where I definitely prefer vintage + plus a cheap bluetooth receiver.

I recently went online looking for a good set of bookshelf speakers... eventually found myself in mid-aged guy's home with more than 500 different 'pieces' of audio; speakers, amps, turntables, etc. 
Was surreal.
