basically like Sonos on steroids, similar app and smart speaker experience but with much better sound. goes proper loud without straining, small and fits with almost any decor.

but at $2-3k you’re not too far from floorstanding speakers like JBL 4329P (and others) so definitely worth listening IRL to see if it sounds good to your ears vs. alternatives in a similar price bracket

the latter, it has a 1” tweeter and a midrange transducer around it (like a ring) that is equivalent to 5”.

and the two side woofers are 8” each in a push-push configuration in order to cancel each other out.

pretty interesting design, they claim low-end extension to 16Hz in-room. can also be installed as a stereo pair.

So is only the tweeter pointing at you, or the donut around it is also a diaphragm for the mids?

haha it’s definitely very futuristic, though I’ve heard much crazier sound quality so it doesn’t really faze me at this point.

I love how small this thing is for the sound quality though and it’s white so fits into any decor.

The design looks so cool (looks sci-fi 😂) . did the space orb change how you vibe with the music? I mean like the sound quality

surprisingly good, will far surpass most speakers this size. very dynamic but needs to be turned up a bit, somewhat flat at low volumes.

I suspect it’s class D amplified and uses DSP to smooth out the bass response, though haven’t looked at the specs yet.

it’s a routine, gotta spend 10min/day. results aren’t immediate, takes a couple months, so gotta be patient!

I took photos at the start so will compare at the 3 or 4-month mark.

depends on the JBL, they make everything from cheap portable speakers to big floorstanders 

this Devialet is surprisingly sophisticated, it’s able to do a lot of “hi-fi”despite being a relatively small smart speaker. they also make portables with a similar design aesthetic.
