i remember having the public/private likes convo with @dwr.eth when warpcast was rolling out the “likes” tab on the profile. he said it was a discovery tool. i said it was a cancellation tool. we all know how every debate with @dwr.eth ends. interesting X will now move them private. thoughts?

exactly... I think naval or someone said you can learn way more about someone on twitter by what they like as opposed to what they post ppl probably liking a lot of conservative stuff and getting canceled

his primary stated reason for doing it is so ppl aren’t attacked for likes it is tragic though, never again will politicians like Ted Cruz be outed for liking TS porn

Definitely true, the old rule of thumb was something like 90% consume, 9% engage, 1% create.. so that engagement bucket is invaluable.
