i want citycaster to be a hub for all things farcaster + IRL got any ideas? some i’m thinking of: - checkins / social foursquare style games - turning city-based FC channels into group chats (w/ notifications!) - show which fellow community-members and fc friends are in each city - informal meetup organizing

Superlocal has created Foursquare style check-ins onchain, haven't looked at their changes recently. Last time I checked, it was a pay-to-mint to become 'mayor' of a location...

No, I wouldn't. The check-ins are free, it's just the mayorship you have to pay for (and it was on ETH L1 last year, so not cheap)...and the money doesn't go to the checked-in business

I tried to use it regularly but, without a network, it never took off.

thoughts on a checkin style app that shows all of your farcaster followers too? (or even members of your ethereum communities) don't want to mom-test this but would love to know what you think

I’d love a location experience built on top of Farcaster, like Threads on top of Instagram. I think it has to pull in an existing network and / or push to an existing network to have any chance of traction. Gowalla relaunched and it’s a ghost town. Swarm / Foursquare I only use with family.
