I haven’t spent more than a few hours away from my puppy since we got him two months ago Wanted to jot down some thoughts as I head out for a weeklong vacation without Moose

It's an understandable feeling! Parenting isn't too dissimilar. Enjoy your week off. Moose will be ecstatic for your return, as will you!

Bro we have exact same situation. I’m about to finish my week long vacation. And looking forward to meet Pepper. It’s been 2 years that he’s with us. But first 6 months were difficult as my wife rescued him when he was just 2 months. Hated his constant interruptions especially when I was doing something which required focus. But after 2 years with him, he understood when I’m working and when I’m at ease. He sleeps when I am in work mode. I take a break according to his walk/poo time. Now we both have adjusted according to each others requirements. Glad you shared this post as I too felt guilty for being frustrated with this cute little thing

Appreciated this - thank you :-). We're about to change our lives - our dog's lives too - moving from LA with a dog door to a city apartment in Scotland - it's going to mean regularly scheduled walks - no matter the weather (it's going to be wet - let's just call it ;-p) - it's going to fuck with my flow. I'm betting that - over time - it will be a net positive, and those first few months - which I suspect will suck ass - will fade from memory quickly. At least - that's the plan. I'll report back if it doesn't ;-p
